Description: The integration of IoT technology into healthcare systems has greatly improved patient care and hospitals’ processes. Unfortunately, they’ve also introduced new challenges that must be addressed in order to maintain the safety and well-being of patients. Among some of the most vulnerable IoT medical devices are smart infusion pumps, which are medical devices used to deliver fluids and medications into an individual’s body. They offer a lot of advantages, however, there’s also a lot of flaws associated with utilizing them—ranging from improper authentication to wrong medication administration—that could put patients in harm’s way. Standardizing the implementation of Dose Error Reduction Software could help prevent a lot of issues associated with infusion pumps.
