Hosted by School of Technology and Computing (STC), the Doctor of Information Technology (DIT) Forum is open to faculty, professionals, and students from any discipline, university, or professional organization. At the end of this quarter, DIT students can present their research projects to their peers and faculty members. This Forum will provide opportunities for students, researchers, and practitioners to discuss the influence and impact of applied computing on the future of our planet and our society.

This presentation evaluates five database architectures — PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Apache Cassandra, Spark with Delta Lake, and DuckDB — for large-scale telecom configuration- and performance-management analytics. Through a controlled experiment spanning 42 tests on identical hardware, it identifies which architecture wins on ingestion throughput, which wins on analytical query latency, and how data-quality issues and mixed workloads change what’s practically viable in production — concluding that no single engine wins outright, but each has a clear, workload-conditioned role.
The presentation examines data readiness for multimodal artificial intelligence in healthcare. Part 1 introduces a seven-pillar framework covering data characteristics, integration, privacy, security, provenance, and governance. Part 2 demonstrates how a prototype assessment tool applies the framework to identify readiness gaps before healthcare organizations implement cross-site multimodal federated learning.
