Panel discussion on NIST SP 800-171: Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations

Jemell Garris, Manager of Cybersecurity, Applied Physics Lab, and DIT Student at City University will participate on a three-person panel with Josh Furman, Information Security Analyst, UW Office of the CISO, and Matt Weatherford, Computing Director of the Center for Studies in Demography and Ecology (CSDE).

NIST SP 800-171 is a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication that provides requirements for protecting the confidentiality of controlled unclassified information (CUI) in non-federal systems. Come and hear how our panelists have contended with fulfilling the many controls and responsibilities laid out in 800-171, and why the document may be helpful for developing a foundation of best practices and good security hygiene.

Email Jemell Garris to RSVP and receive the Zoom link.
