Seattle Data AI Hackathon Successfully Held
City University of Seattle successfully hosted the Seattle Data AI Hackathon on December 13, 2025. The event attracted over 80 registered participants, including 18 students from the School of Technology and Computing; all engaged in hands-on, team-based projects focused on data and artificial intelligence applications.
This hackathon model allows students to work on teams with technology workers who attend to sharpen their technical skills. CityU faculty joined industry professionals to judge the hack-a-thon competition. This format provides participants with mentorship and real-world feedback during the event for students and strengthens communication between faculty and industry professionals.
One STC student who won the on-line hack-a-thon received a paid internship with Inlink. As a direct outcome of the hackathon, students learned about future internship opportunities with Exposio and Microsoft.
The Seattle Data AI Hackathon demonstrated CityU’s commitment to experiential learning, industry engagement, and preparing students with practical AI and data skills aligned with workforce needs.
