Morgan Zantua, Center for Cybersecurity Innovation Program Director
In 2022, 70,000 people reported losing $1.3 billion to Romance Scams. Older people are frequent targets of catphishing. I watched a close relative, recently widowed, come close to being a Romance Scam victim!
The message this week is to encourage students to form teams of two to four people to participate in the Temple University Social Engineering Challenge. The CARE Lab Fights Romance Scams competition rules are available here . Team applications are due by April 29th.
Email C4CyI@cityu.edu to schedule a meeting with a faculty advisor for your team.
Why should you compete? Your PSA could protect a senior from being cat phished and you’ll added to your cyber-portfolio.
Click here to join the meeting on April 13th, 2023 4:30 PDT.
