Ahreum Ju, Ph.D – Assistant Professor and Program Manager, Associate Director of the Center for Cybersecurity Innovation
Last week, August 17-20, the US-Korea Conference (UKC) 2022 was held in Washington D.C. Two faculty members, Dr. Sam Chung and Dr. Ahreum Ju, and two alumni, Mr. Taejin Kim and Mr. Spencer Yu-Che Liu, presented their research at the conference. Attending conferences and sharing your research as the first author allows you to meet people, build a professional network, expand your areas of interest, and learn about ongoing research and industry trends.
Submitting your paper to the conference allows you to receive authentic feedback from reviewers. When your paper or poster is selected as a presenter, people in the audience will give you feedback. It is a great chance to listen to other’s opinions, and you can make improvements after this process. Anyone who wants to prepare conference submissions can get detailed information and help from the organization’s conference website, the STC Program Directors, Dr. Brian Maeng, Dr. Ali Khamesipour, Director Morgan Zantua, or me. Developing conference presentations from coursework projects, including the capstone project, is one of the strategies to prepare for submitting an article.
Our team hopes you will take advantage of UKC and other conference opportunities during and after your studies with STC.
